We built Twnship because we lived the problem - as residents and committee members watching societies struggle with WhatsApp groups, Excel sheets, and manual collection walks.
Our story
We saw the problem from the inside.
India has over 100,000 registered housing societies - from small gated communities to large townships with thousands of homes. Nearly every one of them runs on some combination of WhatsApp groups, Excel files, and a treasurer who personally drives around collecting cash every month.
We've sat in those AGM meetings where nobody knows the actual collection figure. We've been in those group chats where a complaint about a broken lift gets buried under 400 messages. We've watched committee members - volunteers with full-time jobs - spend their evenings chasing dues.
So we built Twnship. Not a generic property management tool adapted for India, but something designed from scratch for how Indian housing societies actually work - with UPI at the centre, WhatsApp as the notification layer, and simplicity as the non-negotiable constraint.
